347 stroker in my Mk3.1

While cruising down the highway I glance over and see no oil pressure (heart attack!!). I installed a mechanical gauge and verified that sender was bad. (This car has Dolphin gauges) I got a OP6646 sender from NAPA for early 90s 5.0 Mustang. Sorta works now, but gauge is pegged to the high side when running.

Anyone know what sender works in a small block with electric gauge?? This was the little "can" type sender with the ONE wire pushed on to stud.

Thanks.

What oil pressure gauge do you have? I think the sending unit has to match the correct resistance to what the gauge is expecting based on fluctuations in the oil pressure. My oil pressure gauge came with the matching sending unit.

It's a Dolphin gauge :( and it did come with a matching sending unit, but it's now failed. Trying to find a one-wire unit that works. Haven't been able to connect with Dolphin.

you can't use an OEM "Sender", I made that mistake too. Turns out its nothing but a pressure switch that is intended to drive an idiot light - either on or off. You need to get the appropriate pressure sensor that mates with the gauge you're using.
