Hello All. This time in our history (lack of work) has allowed me more time to work on my build. I'm probably going to be posting more questions moving forward, but for now, the question of the day is about Radiators. I bought the Mk4 Basic kit, but added 'almost' all of the parts needed to make a Complete kit. However, I did not buy the radiator with the kit. I see the radiator in the online parts of FFR but wanted to know if there are other options out there (for comparison) and what they might be. I would also appreciate recommendations for an overflow tank. One final question (for now). Looking at the Breeze upper mount kit, I see that the mount bracket is essentially a piano hinge. Why is this used instead of a solid piece of metal (stainless or aluminum). Is there a future need to be able to rotate the radiator off the lower mount? Thanks in advance for any insight!

I think there are options for the radiator, but I can't recall what the specifics are. I'm sure someone will chime in on that. Remember, the radiator is at ~51 degrees and having the inlet and outlet at the correct angles makes plumbing a bit more straight forward. As for the hinged top mount, I didn't use one. The idea is to spread out the stress across more area that the two mounting points provided. I see the advantage, but didn't find it was critical. You will want to have some adjustment in the angle to do a final placement of the radiator aluminum panels once the body is on. The lower mount from Breeze makes that very easy to do and provides support across the bottom of the radiator that isn't there with just the kit parts.
