View Full Version : Coyote listing a starboard

Got the engine installed today in about an hour once I got everything else lined up.

The engine mounts appear to be bottomed out. That is to say the pins are both in their respective slots and are both at the bottom of their travel. However, the engine appears to be in a slight starboard tilt.

I know the engine centerline angles to the passenger side a bit. I have the MkIV with IRS and when you look down the tunnel the driveshaft receiver on the diff is displaced some to the right. I have already read here that that is normal. This is different than the tail end pointing thing.
In my case with the engine mounts are bottomed out and looking like they're mating properly. The oil pan is not level and the drivers side cam cover is higher than the passenger side cam cover.

Also, I wonder if I have the right engine mounts. In the manual it shows the bolt and the pin side by side but on both the left and right sides the bolt is in the forward hole and the pin is in the aft hole.

In my case the bolt on the drivers side is in the aft position and the pin in in the front. Passenger side is bolt in front and pin in back.

What gives?

Anybody have an idea?

Did you install the Coyote motor mount spacers?

Jeff

Loosen the bolts & try jacking the starboard side up a little. If you still have it on the hoist take the weight off chassis pads & rock it a bit into balance.

Yes, very sure of that.

Thanks,
