Hi

I've gone to mount my Coyote engine ECU behind the Right Hand side of the engine, i know its tight between the engine and bulkhead but too tight really for the ecu and looms for my liking

I know the engine should only really move side ways so shouldn't hit it or squash it

So i thought id move my transmission mount bracket around to tilt the engine slightly for most space but cant as there wont be enough clearance between the bell housing and the 2" chassis above

Is this transmission mount the correct way round ( the smaller spacer and larger spacer between the gearbox and rubber mount was there just not in the picture ive uploaded )

Thanks

DO NOT MOUNT YOUR ECU that close to the engine. The engine is free to move in three dimensions, it's not limited to lateral movement only.

Also, if you need to use a spacer to elevate your trans, put the spacer between the bottom of the mount and the chassis mounting bracket. The way you have it creates a bunch of bending moment and you are looking at possibly breaking the aluminum tail housing. When the engine is under hard acceleration there is a lot of torque that the engine and trans mounts are resisting.

Cool, i can mount it higher and further to the right but i haven't got my heater in yet and loom was a bit short so was trying to mount it before i had everything else in place

I've re done my engine loom, to give me more room to move the ECU

Of course it's better on the firewall out of harms way and not interfering with removal of the valve covers. But, if you just can't find a good spot flat on the firewall you might consider fabricating an angle bracket the width of the ECU and cantilevered off the firewall above the valve cover. Things get tight in these little cars so you sometimes have to get creative.

Good luck with your build.

I have mounted them there without issue as has Factory Five, That's where theirs is on the Hot rod pickup.

No Problem.

The tires are going to break loose before the motor moves much with the poly mounts.

the firewall is a busy place with heat a/c, overflow bottle, fuel regulator and hood latch, as well as oil filter relocator.

You don't have a lot of choices, also with harness limitations.
