Did any of you have this problem?
Did you just grind down the inner surface or build up the outer surface, maybe a little of both?

I had the same issue Jim and decided to fill it. Roughed the top flange then I took strips of Glad Wrap and taped em to the deck, then with top on and attached I pushed filler into the gap. Pulled the top off and finshed filling the parts of top flange as needed.
I had to build up mine in the back ~1/2" to get the gap small enough to bond the top to the body. Never tried the gasket as I never intended to make the top removable. But I suspected that the gap would have been filled with the rubber gasket that seals to top. Are you planning to make your top permanent?

I built it up somewhat with long hair fiberglass and then short hair. Pictures are linked below. Some people put parchment paper down and build up with fiberglass. However, the bulb seal is pretty big so if you get it too close, you will not have room for the seal and will have to search for another way.

There is also a trunk deck lid attachment sold by Kootenai Valley Customs. Not sure if I can mention them on this forum. You could either purchase from them or make your own. This can support the trunk lid area and close the gap somewhat.

Also, while doing my roof, I read the techmotion thread a bunch. It was very helpful. Page 7 on the other site. Link: https://www.ffcars.com/threads/tecmotions-33-hot-rod.299828/page-7

Nothing new to add really, good to see we all have the same challenges and "quality" level of hard top. :(
I taped wax paper to the body before shoving the short hair between the deck and the top... By the way, I had to use this same method on the front as well. Under the front A pillars, I got it as close as I could with sanding and then gooped a bunch of short hair under the corner and then quickly bolted the front down - came out perfectly molded to the body....
Have fun!

Thanks for all the recommendations.
NAZ I was planning on leaving the roof on but didn't want to bond it on permanently.
Thanks for the links fostia. I'm not pleased that a lot of us all have the same problems.
Too bad FF just doesn't fix the molds.
