Lizard Skin Insulation - how much and which version

I'm trying to plan ahead on cockpit insulation and maybe? the trunk as well before carpeting. I've seen some guys using spray on products like Lizard Skin and will plan to do similarly as I like the idea of it getting into every little crevice. They sell two different products: 1) sound control & 2) ceramic insulation, the former is a sound deadening product, while the latter providing heat insulation. Are people using both or one over the other? What volume of product is required?

EdwardB I know you used this product on some of your builds. Thoughts?

For my projects, I use both. For the Roadster builds, (2) gallons LizardSkin 1303-2 Ceramic Thermal Insulation and (2) gallons LizardSkin 2203-2 Sound Control. That does the complete inside of the cockpit and trunk with a little left over. I sprayed two coats of each per their instructions. Some will say doing the trunk isn't necessary, and maybe it isn't. But I don't think you could do only the cockpit to the adequate thickness with only one gallon each. So each time, I've just gone for both and have been happy with the results. They've been changed but same products. Bottom line with Lizard Skin, lots of time for prep, sprays in minutes, great final result. I've been very pleased with it. Due to space limitations I did a few areas on my recent Coupe build with stick-on products. That's a great option too. I felt like the time required overall is about the same and prefer Lizard Skin if possible. Good luck.

I used both. The sound deadener goes on first. I think it was 1 gallon of sound deadener and 2 gallons of ceramic insulation.

The heat insulator can only be used on top of the sound deadener.
