I ordered a hydraulic clutch kit from Forte and when trying to install it I ran into an issue with the bracket bolts that go into the bellhousing. I have a Quick Time bellhousing mating to a TKO 600 transmission. FF assembled my engine and transmission so I don't know the exact part number for the bellhousing. Anyway the bolts from Forte are 7/16x14 thread but the existing bolts that bolt my transmission to the bellhousing are M10x1.5 metric. Does this sound correct? I've tried to do some research on the web and it seems that the bellhousing should be 7/16x14 thread. But mine is metric. What am i missing? Curious that they even make a metric version. Has anyone else run into this issue?
I have sent Mike Forte an email asking about this but no word back yet.
Thank you for any assistance,
Tim
Just looked on Quick Time website the T56 uses M10x1.5

An M10 x 1.5 bolt will go inside a 7/16 x 14 thread almost a 1/2 inch in distance before it jams due to the thread pitch. I just took a M10 bolt and a 7/16 nut about 3/8" thick, and it will go all the way to the head of the screw without binding due to the 3/8" thread depth.
The Bellhousing thread depth isn't that much as I remember, maybe 1/2", so the M10s will go in but aren't really engaging much of the thread depth due to a much smaller outside diameter than a 7/16 bolt. I would think the threads in the bell housing are fine, you could run a tap thru them just to be sure before you install the 7/16" bolts.

Thanks for the info. Although then I wonder why Factory Five would have put M10's in there in the first place if 7/16's were called for. Thanks, I'll check again but i don't think the 7/16's would go in very far. Just barely got started.

You do not want to mix Metric into SAE or vice versa even if it seems to work. Surface engagement will be less than ideal and the thread pitch will be wrong.
Just buy the correct bolts. www.mcmaster.com is a good source. Your local hardware store might be a good start.

Thanks. Totally agree. I just checked and the natural thread in the bellhousing is an M10.
