After messing with the turbo mess/upgrade over the winter - I was never really satisfied with the idle - yes I am picky...lol... The turbos should have quieted down the car - but my exhaust pipe design while cool looking - actually amplified the note - especially at cold start...those with Gen 2 motors know what I am talking about. The GEN 2 ECU tune also has a characteristic in the tune which doesn't allow the throttle to act "snappy"... it free rev's quick, but is very lazy in returning to idle RPM... I have shared this on FB already so I thought I would share here as well...

With all the time we have - not going anyway and staring at the car in the garage - I figured I would break out the HP Tuner and see if I could figure this ECU out. Keep in mind - with the cold start tune, you only get 1 shot to check it per 24 hours :) Could not have picked a better time to tackle this... keep in mind that I don't consider myself a "tuner", lol, and this ECU isn't all together easy to understand for me... probably why these things cost so much to tune... Anyway - not only is the cold start fixed... but with the muffler end caps installed - and the tune adjusted, I was able to get this thing pretty quiet and smooth... These things are meant to be loud I know... but for those have driven in a coupe- it is loud .. and make no mistake when I step on the gas the demons do come out... this was only my attempt to mess around with the characteristics at idle - for both sounds and to get rid of the exhaust smell (or at least knock it down) - anyway -

the results speak for themselves....
