The time has come for us to finally let you in on the secret project...
We are working on a wrecked, yes you read that right, wrecked factory five cobra! And the best part? This car is the sister car to our very own cobra! Awesome right! We hope you are just as excited to see what crazy things we do to this car as we are!

FFoenix. While it may not have had any previous fire associated with the accident, you're bringing this one back from the ashes.

When the car comes back to life, a fitting name may be "Christine". A bit dark but some will understand the reference.

Why did you bother to strap it down in the trailer? You might want to replace the drivers seat- don't think you’ll ever get the poo stains out.

This is really a wake-up call. This frame is newer than mine (8650). I wonder what happened to the occupants and hope they got out OK. From a wake-up call perspective, it's important to consider just how easy it is to "go sideways". From a rebuild perspective, this is VERY interesting. You have your work cut out for you! (especially considering the cross member was cut out!) For a name, how about "Aurora"! This is a rebuild to watch!

Looks like you guys have alot of challenges ahead. Have fun with the project.

I like your Team Associated banner in the garage. I still have my 2 original gold pan cars back from 1986

Jwd,

We did want it to hurt the trailer. lol we already know it like to run into things. Even if it was about a 5 mile trip. All the seats are being re upholstered to a color we will pick in the future.

Al_C,

The real wake call was when I dropped my body off at Ken Pikes in N Cali when we were building the Green Car. I swear he had 5 to 6 crashed ones in there. People Just really dont understand how crazy these things can be when they ask to drive it. LOL Thanks for watching and we will take the name into consideration.

Vspeeds, Yeah we use to be huge into RC. Adam use to own a Hobby Town here in Tucson, but unfortently close last year. The whole hobby has changed kids are no longer interested in build, flying, and driving. We saw a change when all the kids wanted ready to run cars and plane. Then they would bring them into the shop for us to change easy pieces. Thanks for watching.

So true. Its sad that all my favorite brick and mortar stores that I used to frequent are now closed. I build scale tugboats and get most of my parts from the UK, Netherlands, and Germany. I take my boat out of the water when a young yahoo puts in his ready to run and starts rooster tailing next to me. Fortunately there is still a store here in Sacramento for RC cars and planes. I'm gonna pull out my original gold pan RC10 and run it now.

Looking forward to seeing the progress on your project.

This is interesting, as I had a similar (not quite as bad) situation with the RH side of my MKIV. Mine required a new body, as "Fender Bender" does not apply to fiberglass! Luckily for me, I had the LH side to make comparisons to as I went along. Once you have the new body, you will have to match the fit to the frame for the roll bars, windshield slots and of course the quick jack locations. I discovered a 1" wooden dowel fits perfectly inside my roll bar bosses-once the burr is removed. Coupled with laser boresight round, I was able to exactly mark the roll bar hole locations. To my surprise the laser actually shown through to the top-this was cake!

Not to berate the original owner too much, but it's interesting to see what short cuts were taken (2 bolt seat mounts, etc). makes me feel more solid about my current build.

I watched the latest video and like others have said, its an eye opener. The driver's foot box is pretty mangled and the fact that the tubes were cut off is an indication that the driver didn't just get out of this one without help. I hope they are okay and not too badly injured, but it's a good reminder to all of us to keep our heads on straight when driving these cars.

My input for the car's name would be "Reanimation".

Ernie, We are getting a new body from FFR with the cut outs. Worth the 120 bucks for them to do it. they were perfect on the green cobra. Plus Ken Pike will be doing the body so it will all be up to him. LOL

Thanks PAPA, yeah i think people would be real surprised at how many people wrecked these car. I know of 2 in the past year in Tucson and there are only about 14 in this town. Just ask Ken Pike he always has at least 3 crashed one. You just cant lose respect for them. Like the name we will put it in the hat.
