This is a video that shows the difference in sound between the Factory Five Stainless Steel Side Pipes and the GAS-n Side Pipes. This video will allow you to "be the judge" I have the camera at almost the exact distance from the driver's side pipe for both of the videos used in this presentation. My engine is the BluePrint Engines 347ci stroker with carb. NOTE: the special offer for BluePrint Engines seen on my door during this video is expired. Please be sure to mention you saw my car if you ever call BluePrint Engines.

Hands down the Gas-N’a the way to go IMHO.

FF pipes @ idle sound a little deeper & more aggressive . GasN pipes ' above idle' sound smoother.

it would be interesting to see what a Decibel gauge says at idle & 3,000 rpm's :)

I love my Gas-N Pipes. The build quality is far superior and made in the USA. If I had to complain about anything it would be the angle of the tips. I thought this was great at first as the sound is not projected straight out. The biggest problem with the downward angle is that it kicks up any dirt and dust on the ground. I was backing in at a cars and coffee and literally left a cloud of dust as I shut down. It completely covered the BMW convertible that was parked next to me. The guy looked like he was going to loose it. Thinking back, at least I just dusted a BMW.

Having heard both in person, the Gas-n pipes are smoother and not nearly as harsh/pop-y. To me the Gas-n has a more refined sound but still plenty loud/aggressive.

I've had both pipes on both cars. First car was a 306 with the FFR Pipes. Stock compression and AFR heads. It was loud. Period. On a spirited ride those without earplugs would mention their ears were ringing ( I wear plugs all the time). New build has 10.5:1 351 with Gas-n-pipes. The Gas-N's are hands down a better sounding pipe. When you lean on the loud pedal, they definitely roar. It's when you're idling around town that makes the biggest difference. Can't say enough about the pipes. As for the down turned tips, I use them to blow the grass back off the driveway when the chance presents itself.

Thanks for posting this. I've never seen (or heard) a side by side comparison. I have a pair of Gas-N pipes on order but haven't gotten a will ship date yet due to the virus. Just curious, did you have to re-adjust the side pipe hangers when you switched? Or were they interchangeable without any modifications?

Thanks!

I will say that Georgie has a really good hanger setup.

This video needs to be re-done using sidepipes that are at least three years old and/or have at least 10,000 miles on them. My Factory Five sidepipes are blown out (I think, they are damn loud.)

I am not aware of the longevity of the Gas-N's.

what's the biggest difference? thickness of the material?

I was going to say the same thing... Test the FFR pipes at 10K miles and compare to the Gas-N's. The FFR pipes unfortunately have a reputation for blowing out. The Gas-N's don't. I don't know enough about the construction to know the reason(s).

This is from the Gas-N pipe site. I have over 7000 miles on mine and they still look and sound as good as the day I installed them. Ford Racing 427 is what I run.

“We use a ceramic blanket packing and 304 stainless steel wool in the muffler to add to the sound quality. We do not use fiberglass packing.”

My understanding is that Factory Five pipes are fiberglass only and they quickly blow out.

The FFR pipes had approximately 7500 to 8000 miles on them. The passenger side of my FFR pipes was also fully cracked by this time. The driver side that is seen in the video had not cracked. The gas-n pipes were brand new with zero miles on them.

Currently my gas-n pipes have approximately 3000 miles on them and I have not noticed any change in sound.

I just noticed the FFR pipes are discolored at the collector - I take back what I said a little bit because they are obviously not brand new.

My driver's side pipe is blown out, the passenger side is not, or at least not as bad. I know this because I took a ride in my own car. I wonder if the difference in back-pressure left & right is affecting the output of the motor.
