Hi all,

Hope everyone is safe and healthy, and building a car during this stressful time.

Have a question on the DS foot box, not much in the manual. I have clecoed the upgraded and larger FF5 foot box in, I feel like I am missing something on the inside of the foot box as the wall that is engine side just seems to touch the rounded frame, no wrap around, not rivets. Is this normal, does it require a bead of silicon, did I miss something? Thanks in advance.

I made a filler piece to secure it. I also thought it was odd that FFR did not provide some guidance here. I suppose a silicone bead could do the trick but I was not comfortable with just that.

I made the same as CDXXVII. I also pushed the panel toward the engine to gain about 3/4” more room for my right foot. Every bit of room helps. I am not running a Coyote so you might need to check clearance before you decide to push it out. I hear it is tight tolerance with the Coyote.

Thank you gentlemen, I will mock up a filler piece also.

I ordered last year the newer wider foot box, seems like I will have enough space for my feet, just hope it doesn’t interfere with coyote motor.

Like the others, I made filler pieces of aluminum for the wider gaps. I used automotive seam sealer to fill the gaps (here as well as the larger gaps, like at the passenger round tube).
