I have managed to lose the socket to remove my security lug nuts. I think my best shot at getting them off is craftsman's bolt out kit. Hammer the socket on and turn it off. Any other ideas?

Go to Car quest and buy tool number: CPS 82644: lug nut remover set. You'll need and air impact and a compresser. Hammer it on and keep impacting it in reverse , it will "grab: the outside of the lug and take it off. Then put the lug in a vise and impact the tool off in forward.....works well......Steven

When I worked in a garage, we would just find a socket that is close to the same diameter, hammer it on and use an impact to take it off. Be willing to lose the socket though.

I use a socket a little bigger then the lock. Usually find a 19 mm (6 point) socket works best. Hammer it on, then use a impact gun to remove. Might take a few times to get a good bite. Good luck

When I lost mine I called the company ( I think it was McGuard) who made the locks, gave them the serial number of the lock and they sent me another key. Had to pay for it of course. If you don't have that info like the guys have said above, be prepared to sacrifice a socket.

Concur. I bought a used truck a couple of years ago, and it didn't have the factory lug lock key. Found out when I was going to rotate the tires, thankfully, instead of by the side of the road. For about twenty bucks I got a set of three remover sockets at AutoZone that covers the whole range of lock sizes. That means that now all I need is a 24V impact and I can own any set of tires and wheels I see. :)
Got a new sew of locks and moved on. The key is safely in the lug wrench pouch where I can find it when needed. With the factory lock on the Tacoma wheels, there wasn't room for any kind of socket due to the large lock body and deeply recessed lug nut location on the factory wheels. The remover worked perfectly. Highly recommended.
Hope this helps,
Lynn B.
Had to get a remover.
