I have the brown county customs dash im trying to get to the point of installing and concerned about a few things. Due to the frame on the backside the dash is considerably thicker on the drivers side than passenger. This can be seen on the photo.

First question is since the dash is much thicker will there be an issue on body fitment in front of the dash?

Second question is how are people adjusting to the differences in thickness between drivers and passenger side thickness? Easy solution is to add aspacer to a mount on the passenger side.

That may be a problem. Generally the MkIV body is a tight fit at the dash. You can find many threads talking about this. People usually trim back the underside of the body roll either to get a little more clearance or to get a constant gap all the way across. Looking at body fitting threads you will see a pretty consistent spec as to how far ahead of the plate that the door latch mounts to the frame the body should be. Hopefully some one who has installed one of these in a MkIV will chime in. Otherwise I'd be thinking about popping the body back on to check. My concern is that if you need to trim the body roll too much you would be getting into the area of the roll that trimming would be moving the edge vertically.

Nick
I used that dash on both a MK3 and Mk4 that I built and had no issues with fitment. PM me your email and I will try and dig out some old photos of how I attached it.
