Hey Everyone!!!Well i started installing my Spoiler. Again the miss match was obvious lol. Did a little bit of sanding and got the spoiler to fit good.
I followed Paul's steps and trimmed the mounting area to 3/4 inch. I also evenly spaced 18 mounting holes.
Everything went quite smoothly
So i wanted to put a third brake light on mine. Like what Paul installed. Also, i actually have a model of car#15 with a third brake light on it. Was that something they ran back thing on these cars?
So i picked up mine off of Amazon. After all of the measurements and double checking, i cut the opening out. Got to say, that's a skill using the cut off saw. I expanded my tool collection with a Milwaukee M12 cut off tool. Awesome.
After the cut, i needed to figure out a bracket system where i could replace the unit if it fails. So i used up some aluminum that i had around. Cut two squares 3/8 thick and a mounting bar. I bolted them all together and set inside of the spoiler. I then fiber glassed the out side blocks to the inside of the spoiler. Drilled a center hole (to be used as the wiring hole) and created pressure by using a bolt, nut and washer to hold the unit in place for the night while it dried.
The next day i drilled and tapped thread the M4x.07 thread for the machine bolts.
installed the rubber base of the light and mounted the light. Looks good i think. Just a little body working to improve my cut.
But im pleased overall with how it turned out.
Now to the rear hatch.
