i decided to tackle the center console for the '33 rather than buy a fiberglass one. The body went off to paint this week so I had previously measured exactly where the dash was and placed a 2x4 in place of it to locate the console. The console is 1/2 MDF with brad nails. I tried screws, but it just kept delaminating the MDF. If i was to do it again, I would use 3/4 MDF for more fastener edge distance.

Also, included a pic of the suicide door safety latch. I used the ones from carolina customs and they are very high quality. I tried the latch in the door first, but it just didnt quite fit. I then tried the jamb and it went in like butter.

I really like the minimalist approach to the car, but after driving around for the last 500 miles, a center console like yours is mandatory. The armrest needs to be higher and you gotta put drink somewhere. Good job!

Can you drop some pictures from the other side, I am still struggling with a secondary method of installing a lock such as that. Much appreciated!!

AJT, I don't have a picture of the lock other than that picture, and my body is off to paint. The pin does align about an inch about the latch on the door itself.

Basically wrapped up the console today. I used marine grade vinyl. Came out pretty good, and I'm happy

Nice job Tony...if you haven't thought of this already, I'll suggest getting you a set of these (at proper size of course) for the speakers https://www.crutchfield.com/p_696B050330/Boom-Mat-6-1-2-Speaker-Baffles-Regular-3-depth.html
