Hi, I'm trying to align my dash and I'm not quite sure what's going on. I center the dash and then place it as the manual says. The corners of the dash support tube are 3/16" below the top edge of the dash. When I do this I can see the dash support tube where my speedometer is going to be. Any thoughts on what I'm doing wrong or missing?

Thanks,

It's the opposite of what you are doing. You want 3/16" of the crossbar showing, at the ends, so the dash is 3/16" lower at the corners of the bar.

+1 on GWL's comment. manual isn't clear/correct. center the steering column in the cut opening, then adjust the dash until around 3/16" of the frame is visible behind the dash a the corners. this gives you enough clearance from the hoop frame to place your speedo and bezel on the back. you'll notice the the dash isn't cut exactly to the curve/dimensions of the frame behind it.

Thanks for the help. It looks good now. Still a tight fit between the Speedo and the frame but at least there is a chance now.

Tim,
IMHO
I would not permanently attach the dash until after first body fitment. The bodies all fit on the frame a little different, which affects how the dash will fit. Some tweaking is usually required for things to look right and for gauge clearance, particularly the top of the far left gauge (Tach or Speedo).

Ok, that's a good point. No rush to secure it so I'll just wait and see how it fits with the body on. But for now I can move forward with assembling the dash. Exact fit later.
Thanks
