Screw it, i bought the ebay one for $600... I asked my wife, she had a moment of weakness, i took advantage of it.

(when it gets here i will take lots of photos of it and post them to this thread)

Do you know how many were made?
Wasn't there a 3D model of the GTM floating around somewhere? If someone just wants a desk model, would be easy to print one up.

There was a guy that made foam core plastic models of GTMs and sold them on the forums years ago. He made one into a remote control car. I bought a few of them because I knew they wouldn't be around long. Have had offers on them, but they are not for sale. Maybe search the forums and contact the original guy? I'm sure if enough $$ was thrown at him (and probably way south of $600 per copy) he could be persuaded to make some more.

i have 2 3D models, one was $100 usd off of a 3d scan of a real car, i can find the link if anyone is interested. The other i ripped out of a game and change its file format. That one is a pretty low resolution model. I do have a 3d printer as well but the bed size would force me to print it in chunks and glue them together.

I was thinking about taking this remote control car to our makerspace in town and getting a few plastic molds made using the vacuum table. Then i could try painting them to see what colors and designs i like best.

I actually have one of these, used to drive it around but my 6 month Brittany thinks it is something to eat! I planned on making it look like the full size car, will have to build a few really small pieces but know I can make it look just like the one I am building. Thought as someone mentioned it would look good on my desk and when I take it to car shows up here in the wilds of Wyoming.....
