I plan to use Scotch-Brite and Sharkhide to finish my visible panels. What is the easiest way to get the manufactures125052 stencil printing off? I have tried lacquer thinner and acetone with not much success.

It’s just ink, it will come off easily with acetone and a rag.

Thanks, yes I have tried that with not much success. I guess I just need to put some serious elbow grease and time to it:(
Brake cleaner or lacquer thinner. You'll still see a ghost image because of the oxidation of the surrounding areas, but once you use the Scotchbrite pad, it will disappear.

I just sanded my panels with an orbital sander prior to getting them powder coated.

I used acetone, then 800 or 1000 grit, followed by Sharkhide. Still look the same after several years.

I had the same issue when I did the Scotch-brite / Sharkhide. After I cleaned them, they still had a ghost image.
I built my footboxes then pulled them completely apart, sanded them with 200, 400, 800 wet/dry, then gave them a brushed finish with scotch-brite and coated them with Shark-hide. Kind of a pain, but really happy with the results. I applied bed-liner to the wheel wells. Also installed Stainless Steel heatshields, I have no heat issues in the footboxes, but not sure how much they actually help, but I think they look cool and I like them.
