Trim the fenders???????

Just mounted the hood on the coupe. Fenders do not seem to have a home anymore. Build manual seems to glaze over this point, imagine that. I'm guessing the fenders need to be trimmed to fit on top of the roof pillars. Seems like a lot of trimming is needed.

I have 818 coupe #1. I cannot see any improvement in the modified a-pillar of later models. The door gap to fender is hideous. So much so that it completely takes the emphasis off the a-pillar interface.

It looks to me like we need to shave off some of the lip but not trim the overall length of the fenders. Truthfully, there are a lot of gaps in there when you look close.
