Working on the trunk area aluminum and I don't seem to have the side pieces for the upper (front) portion. The manual doesn't talk about installing them, so perhaps they don't exist, although there's a photo in the manual with what appears to have them installed. Thus my confusion.
I would like to have these to finish out the trunk space and make it look "cleaner". I can have some made but thought I would ask to see what others have done.
Thanks,

there are not any panels like that from FFR. Only the one piece that goes on the outside of the frame... Others have fabricated their own.
I chose not to and considering when it is all together and the body is on, you can't even see in there, IMO not needed.

I got some extra carpet and cut out the triangle shapes to cover the exposed aluminum parts in the upper trunk area and the front wall.

I know Mk3's had the aluminum upper trunk sides on the inside, and pretty sure early Mk4's did too. But there were a couple changes to the trunk area on the Mk4 and the entire trunk side has been one piece on the outside for a long time. Some of us made panels to add to the upper inside to make it easier to carpet and look a little cleaner. But nothing like that from Factory Five. Agree it's not very visible once done. Strictly a personal preference.

Those photos are from the very early Mk4 with the dropped trunk floor which only was produced for about a year. As you discovered the current configuration is different.

Thanks for all the comments and feedback. I didn't realize it wouldn't be visible with the body on. One less thing I need to fuss with.

It's not too difficult to make your own. mine is an earlier mk4 so I just needed to build the outside panels.
