I hit a roadblock with my rear brakes and thought I better work on something else for a while. So, where to mount the fuel filter? I have an IRS setup and a canister type fuel filter. It looks like the big bracket on the rear frame would be a good spot. The directions call it the "quad shock bracket" and the filter would be mounted on the inside of the passenger side bracket. As nearly as I can tell, the bracket is not used for IRS. Before I mount the filter, does anyone know of interference that might develop later in the build?

That’s where I put mine. No interference with my build with the IRS. I did have to use some 45 degree fittings for routing the lines there. Created a bracket from 1/8th aluminum to get extra depth as you can see partially here.

On my 3-link setup, I used that part of the bracket for a panel to attach the rear elephant ear (for support). I mounted the filter to the square tube just inboard and forward of that spot.

Here is my location. Passenger side in front of the fuel tank.

Thank you gentlemen. It is great to have all the experience available on this forum. I appreciate the insights and photos, otherwise I would be afraid to mount the filter for fear it would interfere with something else later.

Just think, you have to access it and the clamps after the car is built. You might have to pull the rear wheel, but still accessible.

Here is where I mounted the FFR provide filter and bracket. It is a straight up shot from under the car to replace when that time comes. And I also made sure to orientate the clamp/screw facing straight down so as to make it easy to get to when needed. Hope this helps.

Thanks BadAsp. It's good to hear access is ok. I bought a canister filter so it would be easy to change and that spot looks like the right place.
