Has anybody chrome plated the FFV Halibrand rims? If so, looking for an idea of cost and recommendations on who to contact in the Rhode Island area. Capt. Paul

Capt. Paul,

I haven't had my Halibrand Rims chrome plated so I can't help with what it would cost, but I just had my roll bars rechromed and it was $650.00 for both of them. The original chrome that came on them from Factory Five was lousy and didn't last very long before the chrome was gone and the plating underneath was showing. There is a chrome plater in Olneyville Square in Providence that I tried but he was unable to do the roll bars at that time so I took them to New England Chrome Plating in Hartford Ct and they did a fantastic Job. I forgot the name of the plater in Olneyville, sorry, but you should be able to Google it. Tom

Tom,
Thanks for the feedback. I am also looking for a good shop to install bump steer kit (that knows what one is...) and conduct an alignment. Any thoughts...I noticed you are from my area...Capt. Paul

Capt. Paul,
I would say for the bump steer kit I would call Mike Forte at Fortes Parts Connection, he should have the parts and he has the shop right there. As far as the alignment I had mine done at a small tire shop in Westerly, Redstone Tire, they did an excellent job. Tom
