Power Steering Rack Question

Guys,
I purchased a partially completed early Mk3 kit....that is missing a few pieces and am trying to get the power rack set up. I am going to go with power steering. The manual shows a steering rack extention, that I don't have. I do have new inner tie rods that were included with the kit (picture attached). Do I need the extentions or?

You WILL need to run the power steering rack extensions. Sku# 14687 $55 PAIR. You can call FFR to order. (508) 291-3443.
