I guess that is about time to introduce myself to the Factory Five Forum. I am from Wichita, Kansas and have been interested in one of the Roadsters for some time and when I through it out to “She who must be obeyed” and she said that would be a wonderful thing for you to do with our son (at 35 years old), I was on the internet with Factory Fire ordering one.

I have spent lots of time reading the various build threads, beats reading novels. I want to thank the guys who spent the time and energy to do these threads they are fantastic:
Edwardb, Delta 0014, Papa, Caddy Dad, Toadster, Nick 7405 and many others.

My experience with cars goes back to my brother building and driving AA Fuel sling shot dragsters. I did not do anything but watch and when he hit 200mph it was time for a pro driver. I have had a full restoration done on my XKE and put a Chevy V8 in my 53 Chevy truck. But build a car? That is a new project. I have a garage and time so why not?

My order is:
Mk IV Complete Kit
Powder coated frame
Body cut-outs
Leather seats
ILS w/complete kit
GPS gauges
18” Halibrand wheels
Sway bars front & rear
Dash with glovebox
Heater/defrost
Chrome roll bar DS
Louver set
Trunk gas strut
ILS center 3.55
Wilwoods
Plus bits and pieces

There are going to be lots of questions with my “Cobrakan” user name and I hope they won’t be too dumb, but your sage answers are apricated.

Thanks, I am under the impression you used a Chevy in your Cobra, I thought about using a Flathead Ford in my 53 Chevy truck.

Affirmative Regarding The Chevy Style Engine.
I'm also running a ZF 6-Speed Transmission & Dana 44 Style Rear End so my car is quite a bit different.

Welcome to the Mad Mad World of building your car. You caught my eye being from Wichita, KS as I was born and raised there and most of my family is still living there. I am building a GTM and on the GTM forum and have been building mine for 2 plus years now. Good luck and most of all have fun making it your own design...

I have spent some time in Newcastle hunting Prong Horns. It is a nice place. I'll bet when the winter wind blows it is a good time to build a car!

I saw that you were from Wichita. I’m also in Wichita and recently placed my order for a similar setup as you ordered. My build date is 10/16/21. I’d love to see how yours is progressing if that’s possible.
