Am replacing some bad studs & fresh lug nuts. I see two listed for 1/2 X 20. One says SAE the other NF. what is the difference?

Kevin, 1/2-20 is both. It's SAE and it's a fine thread. The 20 is threads per inch. SAE course thread would be 16 threads per inch.
Oops, 13 threads per inch

SAE stands for Society of Automotive Engineers. NF stands for National Fine (technically UNF - Unified national coarse). Also: UNC = Unified national coarse. The coarse and fine define threads per inch. Both are SAE.

Thanks all. Knew what SAE was but did not know about the difference in the thread count. My studs are NF, learn something new every day, even at 78.:)
