This is interesting...I bolted the trans to the engine and installed them. The engine is bolted to the engine mounts but the transmission doesn't quite fit in the frame. Notice the corner of the the transmission/oil pan and the frame bracket with the hole. I looked through the manual and I don't think I need that for anything so I plan to just cut a notch in the bracket/frame to accommodate the trans. Has anyone else had to do this

Does the trans mount line up?
I'm not where you are in the build yet.....but I would stare at it for a long time before I cut anything.

I have SBC with 4l60e and had to build spacers for the motor mounts to get it in. I have about 1/8" in front from pulley to frame and about 3/16" in back corner your picture shows. Couldn't get much tighter :( Do you have space to go forward a little?

Is the rear of the trans too high? Is the tailshaft pointing straight into the driveshaft "loop" ??

I've got a sbf w/ aod and tons of room. your pic confuses me. I don't have any brackets that look like that, but I have an early one #13.

It's a Ford AOD 4R70W. Engine is a BluePrint 306 with EFI. I don't remember the brand of mounts...whatever FFR sent with the kit...Energy something?

Yes the trans mount lines up fine. I can adjust it forward and aft but the engine mounts don't have any forward/aft play. So I can really only flip the trans mount upside-down to raise or lower the trans.
Besides eng/trans, I've finished the suspension, wheels, brakes/lines, steering, cab floor, fuel tank. I looked through the assembly manual and don't see where I'll need that part of the frame bracket...the only thing to consider is the e-brake handle but I should have room for that.

It's a little high...it should come down about 1/2"

I'm confused also
Other than the e-brake handle, I don't see why I would need those brackets...

No, only about 1/4" from hitting the steering rack mount...and the engine mounts don't allow fore/aft adjustment :(

Agree, those brackets are for the e- Brake, On the right hand drive version you would use the one on the drivers side for the ebrake..
These were not present on the gen I chassis.

I had to do similar surgery on my BBC/Powerglide version of the truck to get my transmission shifter linkage to clear.
Mine is the newer style chassis with two layer metal—foam filled floor.
I just double checked and went for it. :D
