That's a long time to be on hiatus, but better late than never! I look forward to seeing some progress pics.

How did you fit the I6 in there?

Remember That Yourr Better Scotches Are Aged For 12 Years!

Your project wasn't on hold it was just being properly aged.

Welcome Back & An I-6 Is A Super Cool Idea!

I thumb balled it. I stepped back closed one eye held my thumb up and said yup dats it! JK
Actually I modified the FFR trans mount from an A to a T to clear the AODE pan. I set the engine and trans in installed the drive shaft with the proper U joints, I think it took 3 or 4 to get the 2 I needed. I blocked the oil pan at the front frame tube until my oil pan was above the frame rails. At that height I set up the 1/4" plates for my solid engine mounts. Tacked them, removed and welded them up.

They have had the welds improved, been trimmed up and painted since these pics.

That 300 I6 is a great engine - makes a ton of torque. I thought it would be too tall to fit in there. I sure would like to see the end results. :)

I only know of one other Cobra that has a 6cyl. It's a V6 Buick with a turbo, and it's a rocket!

123686It just sticks above the frame. I will probably use a teardrop scoop with the point facing forward it should give me the clearance I need and work for my paint scheme I have in mind.

I'm curious as to what you're planning for your exhaust. Under car? Is the cylinder head the traditional style with intake and exhaust on the same side or did you get a new one? Any estimates as to torque and horsepower? The original 300 hit its peak around 2,000 rpm, I believe...

I will use the side pipes. Yes the intake and exhaust are on the same side. I'm using a heavy duty exhaust manifold off of f600 f700 trucks it flows better then the light duty. I will have a pipe running across the front 4" frame tube. It will have a flange to bolt a pipe to that will come form the flange on the exhaust manifold. As far as horsepower and torque... I'm sure more than the factory single barrel and LD exhaust mani at 101hp and 238 ft lbs. Especially after I add turbo someday. I doubt I will need it. Id like 250 hp and 300 ft lbs of torque w/o the turbo.
