Just ordered my Factory Five MK4 kit today. Looking forward to the delivery day in May. Looking for some feedback on rim size. I ordered the 17x9 front and 17x10.5 rear avoiding the 18's as I thought tire size is harder to find. Anyone prefer one over the other.

Best Regards
Colin

Congratulations! You're in for a great adventure. I've had both. Can't say that I've found much difference in actual use. I wouldn't say the 18's are any harder to find than 17's in the sizes we're using. You'll find the commonly used 315 rear width is often the deciding factor since many tires don't come that wide. I will say I've found the 18's to be a bit more expensive across the board. But as wheel sizes continue toward the larger side in the industry overall, support for 17's might end up going the way of 15's. But hasn't happened yet that I've seen.

I have the 17's using the Nitto 555G2. It's a sticky tire and has some very slight capabilities in the rain. I went with the 315 on the rear and it fits the wheel well fine on a Ford 8.8 inch rear end.

Congrats and welcome to the madness. I have the same wheels. Did you know you can have FFR install the tires too. I didn't know that when I ordered my kit. Seems the price was better than me buying them locally.

ALSO: If you add a signature with engine, suspension, accessories, etc... When you have a question, it will others understand what you have (without having to ask) and make it easier to answer your questions. And has you have probably noticed, lots of people have questions and lots of people are willing to help you.

I’m located about 40 minutes from you if you need to borrow an engine crane engine stand or engine storage stand I’ll be happy to hook you up.
