View Full Version : What is wrong with you people!
I've been participating on this forum for over three years now and have yet to be told I'm stupid, my car is stupid, my grammar is horrible, or any other common forum abuse. Don't you people know how social media is supposed to work? Geeze!
Papa, we may have thinner skin here than say the biker forums.

Dave,
I caught some ribbing on this forum from some folks about my 6-Speed 383 Mighty Mouse powered MK-4, but my experience has only been some ribbing and kidding...The one thing I've noticed about The Factory Five Forum is that it does NOT have many if any low brow buddies, but an online place that supports the crap for their members.
It's is probably because 95-99% of us are professionals, military related, skilled craftsmen or retired family first oriented folks...With that said, it is truly a unique forum.

I'm not a doctor, but now that your build is complete, you may be suffering from build forum posting withdrawal syndrome. Remedy... dose of type 65 Coupe kit as needed.

Ha! It's working. Dave still hasn't caught on to what we've been saying about him in our Private Messages. Good job guys and remember to keep it on the down low ;)
Now, as for Brother GoDad and his Chevy---don't get me started :p I told him years ago that he needed a personal plate for that car that said "Heyoka". Here, I'll save you the trouble of Googling it: "The heyoka is a kind of sacred clown in the culture of the Lakota people of the Great Plains of North America. The heyoka is a contrarian who speaks, moves and reacts in an opposite fashion to the people around them."

Maybe I'll get a personalized licence plate for the car using HEYOKA since it will fit; however, I refer to the car as REDBONE often.
Ethnicity:

The Band:

With that, hit it Pat & Lolly:

These brothers & their pals truly became part of the adopted culture of Louisiana when I was just a kid.

Heyoka & Redbone Both Fit Well!
I like Redbone! Might be hard to fit on a license plate.

In the state of Louisiana we are limited to 7 characters.
Wife wants GODADGO once we are legal.
Maybe REDBONE will end up on it.
Yes, FFR #8,515 Will Be Red!

Call me crazy Papa but I don't think much of your car. That color is way too dark and you know the originals didn't come with stripes. I've seen Ford v Ferrari twice and I've watched a bunch U-Tube videos on that Shelby dude so I'm kind of an expert. And I couldn't find any originals on 18" wheels, but at least you didn't install a Coyote. Couldn't find an LS, I guess? What should I expect from a kit car guy. You know you could spend less on a good Mitsubishi or Subaru and get way better performance. I've seen all the Fast and Furious movies too so I know my imports. Your money, do what you want.
Ok, feeling better about social media now Papa?
You know I love your car

Why Did You Put A Ford Engine It It?
What Were You Thinking?

Whew! I knew things weren't all rosy and sweet. I must have been dreaming. Thanks for bringing me back to reality. :p

Perfect example! I signed up on one of the BMW forums to learn how to "code" some features on my car. I soon realized I didn't qualify to be part of the community after most discussions turned negative within three posts to nearly every thread and I couldn't figure out how my manhood had any relation to my financial portfolio.
Obviously I was board this morning...

I know that I'm new to the community, but I have to say that I am very impressed with this forum. Everyone is extremely helpful and supportive. I'm looking forward to being a bit more active once I'm back in the US and get my build up and running this summer. I'll leave a standing invite to anyone in the Houston area if they want to swing by, I'll have an air conditioned garage and a fridge full of beer. Just send me a PM. That's not something I would say anywhere else online.

Exactly! This forum, an extension of the Factory Five builder community, is simply fantastic. You always see positive, supportive comments and a general sense of mutual respect exhibited here, even if some swamplander wants a Chevy powered Cobra. :p

Yeah, I wish all Forums were like this one. Even when the person posting obviously doesn't have a clue (nobody on this post) , there isn't any ridicule. From every post I've read (and I've read quite a few) there has been nothing but positive comments.
