For those interested in keeping the stock cruise control lever but using an aftermarket steering wheel, I've developed a 3D printed bracket that works with the FFR adapter. It could probably be easily adapted to other adapters as well.

The files can be downloaded here:

First I had to determine the exact orientation that the steering wheel adapter and clock spring were to be installed to ensure that the lever landed at the right angle on the wheel

Next I put a notch in the FFR steering wheel cover where I wanted the lever to sit:

I also decided to delete the outermost mounting hole on the lever. This could have been left, but would have been visible as it is not hidden inside the housing:

To mount the lever, I created modified version of the stock plate that is used to engage the clock spring:

The new version is twice as thick for stiffness, eliminates unused clock spring holes, and has to bosses to bolt the cruise control lever to:

The Lever is bolted to the custom brackets with some #10 machine screws:

and then bolted to the hub adapter:

Finally installed into the housing:

Nice work. I butchered an Impreza steering wheel for the hub, cut up some aluminum parts to adapt it to an NRG wheel, and also put the cruise in. With your permit I could post it here. Not as neat as your's but an alternative...

Go for it. The more ideas the better.

If I had the Impreza wheel I would have probably gone down the same path, but the PO didn’t include it. Probably best because I think this is much more elegant and easier to share.
