I posted this in the 289FIA area. I have been planning a MK4 roadster and find myself really liking the uniqueness of the 289FIA.

Anyone know how much the roll bar support impact the passenger space? It lands in the passenger foot area. While I’ll do most of the cruising and racing around, it has to be wife proof to hit local events and also lunches at local beaches.

Do parts for the roadster fit the 289? Or maybe a tweak is needed?

Appreciate the feedback. Thx. Gizmo

Under the skin the 289 and the mark IV are identical. The “petty bar has caused no issues for my passengers no issues. Some passengers like using it ahs a grab bar.

The forward bar has not been an issue for my wife. She really likes to ride in our F5 289 Cobra..

As the others have said, the bar presents no problem, it actually helps getting in and out. Some MKIV upgrade parts work, some need tweaking. There are body differences which can affect installation.

I am hearing not a problem. Awesome. I am going to focus on the 289FIA. I was going to order a base kit on the roadster and there is not one for the 289FIA. The base kit works for me as I can start building earlier. So I’ll have to save a few more $$ to line the 289FIA up.

Thx for the feedback. Gizmo
