I hate it when this happens. I'm working on routing brake lines and take off the passenger rear wheel to gain access to the area behind it. After removing the wheel I see this part laying on the ground. I have no idea what it is or where it came from. I have Wilwood brakes. This part seems to be black anodized aluminum. Does anyone recognize this part? Could it be from the brake assembly?

Thank you for any assistance.

I have never seen that before. Built lots of these. It almost looks like one of the bushing that you push out of the Coyote gas pedal. They are steel and pretty sure split along is length.

I too have a Wildwood pedal set and I can’t recall seeing anything resembling that part.

No idea!
You'll only need it if you throw it away. If you keep it, it will be sitting in your garage 10 years from now. At least that's how physics works in my world.

I have a special place in my tool box for just such items. That drawer is getting a bit full. Might have to roll the dice and purge that drawer.

Yeah, but as soon as you do that you will have a need for something you tossed!

I don't recall any parts that came from FFR that were anodized.
Did you assemble some lawn furniture in the shop?

if I remember correctly that is a thread protector for the rod ends, about the same texture as shrink tubing - it can be tossed...
oh wait, you said black anodized aluminum? maybe a spacer for shock placement?

Too funny, I have a magnetic tray I place all my Easter egg finds in. Occasionally - I hit a jackpot a discover a missing part’s original location.
The other day I was changing the oil in the Cobra and reveling in how nice it is to change oil with my new Atlas lift. Almost on cue from the undercarriage heaven, a large rubber “Kleiner” 0-ring fell and bounced and rolled away....
I just looked and mentally said, you gotta be F’ing kidding me! Later I discovered that the oil filler cap’s O-ring was missing. It would have created many a sleepless nights if I had not discovered its location!
