Hi Guys,
This many be a very stupid straight forward question-
Autometer gauges-I have the light feed, ground, and gauge feed wired up.
I have wired my all dash gauges, except the Tach.
Does the wire that you spliced into the coil pack #4 on the motor go directly to the tachometer(through the harness)?

per the schematics it looks like that is it.

Please advise, don't know why I'm having a mind block on this one....

Thanks
Martin

I have personal experience wiring the Coyote tach into Speedhut gauges. Twice. There you can take a signal wire from any coil on plug (not only #4, doesn't matter which one) and go directly to the Speedhut tach wire. Those brand gauges have a specific calibration setting that makes that work.

However, I've heard from multiple sources and build threads this doesn't work with Autometer gauges. The only solution I've seen documented that works is using an Autometer tach adapter. https://www.autometer.com/tach-adapter.html. It's explained in their directions, but it doesn't attach to a single signal wire. It attaches into the harness that feeds all eight coils. Again, not from personal experience, but multiple discussions and threads so confident this is correct.

Been there done that, the tach adapter has to be installed correctly and can be tricky, but it does work.

I have a gen 1 Coyote. I am using the Ford Performance control pack. Which harness are you referring to and how can I locate the wire that feeds all eight coil?

I have a 5.7 Hemi in my 33 and used the Dakota Digital SGI-100BT Universal Speedometer and Tachometer Interface to run my Autometer Tachometer. I used cylinder number 8 coil control line to connect to the SGI tach input and the Autometer Tach wire to the tach output on the SGI. The Interface has Bluetooth and an App for setting it up. Using the App you set the tach input as a single cylinder and the output as 8 cylinder. The Autometer Tach needs to be set for 8 cylinder. It works great and was recommended over the Autometer adapter by the outfit I purchased the Hemi wiring harness from because of its versatility over the Autometer adapter at the same price.

The SGI-100BT also has speedo inputs and outputs for the ECU, Cruise Control and to run an electric speedo if needed.
