I have been pouring through GTM builds on YouTube, and an old Speed channel series - “Battle of the Supercar” had a program on a GT Malan versus a Gumpert Apollo. Obviously the Malan is a GTM, and probably old news to you GTM folks, but what is the story behind the GT Malan? I’m going back and forth on building a GTM versus the Daytona Couoe...

GT Malan was built by a tax evading guy from out east. I think he was an optometrist? Shady character nonetheless. Last I heard, imprisoned for tax evasion. He employed a guy who would occasionally post updates and questions on the FFR forum that existed prior to this one, but they kind of did their own thing, I think they wanted to be more "OEM" than part of this build community.
