Windshield Wipers MK3

Just finished installing windshield wipers on an early MK3 and everything works. My issue is the length of the sweep is too long. Any way to shorten it? I noticed a set screw with a jam nut on the motor but didn't want to cause another issue by messing with it.

There is no way to shorten it but you must have something set up wrong. I have put close to 150 of these together with no sweep problems. Are the wipers parked facing the passenger side of the car? Where did the kit come from? I think the FFR supplied kit sweeps about 90-100 degrees

This is the FFR kit. Wipers are parking to the passenger side. I used the tool supplied with the kit and followed the MK3 instructions. When the drivers side wiper is parked it is in the correct position right above the rubber at the bottom of the windshield. At full sweep it is hitting at the bottom of the blade.
