Somewhere in the last couple years, I saw a comparison of AN hoses by brand/manufacturer. The article pointed out the issues of mixing brands of hoses and fittings, but now, my friend Google and I can't find that article.

As I recall, it listed about five different manufacturers/suppliers and the ID & OD of the hoses.

Does anyone recall seeing this or know of a source?

Thanks

Paul

I only use Aeroquip hoses and fittings

The thing to shop for nowadays is the PTFE liner. This material does not degrade with ethanol fuels (even E85+) like the older stainless steel covered rubber hoses. PTFE is also impervious, so doesn’t allow fuel to seep through microscopically causing odors in the garage. Most manufacturers offer at least one model of hose that is PTFE now. The second important note is to use ONE manufacturer for all your hoses and fittings. Whether it be Fragola, Aeroquip, Vibrant (my personal choice), Summit Racing’s house-brand, whatever. Use their lines and fittings together exclusively for best results.

Where compatibility issues arise is when using PTFE hose. There are slight dimensional difference between brands which prevent you from mixing PTFE type fittings from one mfg to another. But for fuel lines it makes sense to go PTFE because it's difficult to find alcohol free gas and alcohol will attack conventional synthetic rubber hose. So as stated above, stick with one brand on the PTFE hose and fittings. But there are not as many types of fittings available for PTFE hose as for std AN rubber hose which makes it a bit more challenging on some difficult installations. Choose the manufacturer wisely as some manufacturers have a very limited range of fittings available for PTFE.
