Hi All,
Looking forward to learning all I can before pulling the trigger on a Coupe kit. I don't have a garage space so it's likely a year or so out. Some of the gallery pics are mind blowing!
Cheers,
York

Hello Ventura. Welcome. Lived in Ventura County (Camarillo) for 6 years while growing up. So know the area but it's been a few years. :p It's changed a lot since then. I have a Gen 3 Coupe build documented in a detailed build thread. Link in my sig line below. Maybe you know, but you can buy and download a manual for $10. Another way to learn a lot. http://www.factoryfiveparts.com/60310-gen-3-type-65-coupe-assembly-manual-digital-copy-pdf/

I grew up in Ventura (VHS '89), and still live in the county. Welcome!

Love Ventura! My wife and I stay there whenever we over on that coast. Great little town. Love the canyon drives to Zuma beach to see the sunrise or sunset. I tried living in SF Valley for a year back in 2010, but have no idea how anyone can afford it!

Hello York and welcome to the madness!
I'm building a Hot Rod in Simi Valley, and I know of several Coupes and lots of Roadsters in the area. So, there's plenty of inspiration available locally. Send me a PM if you would like to drop by the garage sometime to see a (non-typical) build and talk Factory Five stuff.
Also, I highly recommend that you attend the Huntington Beach Cruise-In. It's on Saturday, April 25th from 9 A.M. – 2:30 P.M. on Main Street, Huntington Beach, CA (at the pier). Wife and I usually stay at an inland hotel to save a few $, or you're close enough to just drive down for the day if you prefer. You'll see a lot of great cars and have a chance to meet other local builders, and possibly Dave Smith and his merry band of automotive fantasy enablers too!
