Has anyone done any fresh air ducting into the interior of the 818C cab, more importantly down in the leg area, I find even with the windows down it seems to get pretty warm down by my legs. I was thinking of a 3" flex tube from the front end and an electric valve to open amd let cool air into the leg area.

Looking for thoughts or things you guys have done

Thanks

My venting is overkill to what you are asking but may give you ideas... see 159 to 162:

The front scoop duct is pending, will feed air up into the bottom of the air-switch box. I simple push-pull air flapper in the air path would do the job if your'e not into servos and such.

I’ve adopted the small scoop atop the front fender, as can be found on some early racing corvettes. It just funnels air into a fitting which leads to my foot boxes. One on each side. If the fender must be removed, the fitting & hose remain attached to the foot box. No need for cumbersome removal of hose, etc. I saw it one morning while watching my favorite car show and thought it would be much simpler to build than trying to find space for a 4” hose running from my grille area over top of everything else, back to the firewall.

I incorporated the original HVAC fan from the donor and ran a 2" duct to each footwell. That way I can still have air coming in even if I'm not moving, which is when I get the most hot in my other cars. Now that I have it all hooked up it actually works better than I thought it would! Of course, I can't test in on the road yet because the car is still languishing in my garage....
