What did you fellows do to hold your running boards down to the supports?

Or did you do anything other than move the supports up tight underneath the running boards?

It seems to me they are going to rattle quite a bit unless fastened down.

My current thought...3M adhesive upon final installation.

Your thoughts and ideas please :D

Good question. I am running the boards, but haven't gotten to considering your concern yet. I will be watching for suggestions.

I am planning to run stainless 1/2 round strips on the running boards as step areas, and I guess I could put screws through support and hide the heads under the steel strips. Had planned on holding the SS strips down with high strength 3M double sided tape.

I’m doing a 33 with the 35 truck running board supports. I put silicone on the supports and moved them up tight against the boards. I then clamped them together until the silicone dried. For the top protection, I saw what FFR did with the 1/2 round but am scouring the web looking for another solution. Open to ideas?

Thx,

Henry

Mac's auto parts, sells reproduction rubber covers just like the originals.

Thanks guys!
I like the silicone idea, more flexible.

On the topside I’m planning to use the black ‘deck tread’ type of paint typically used by the entry door of low wing light aircraft.
