I recently purchased the firewall forward kit which moves the firewall forward about 1.5". I bought it in anticipation of installing a heater. I'm now rethinking the heater decision. It looks like it'll be a nice fit regardless but haven't permanently installed it yet. Are there any negative impacts of moving the firewall forward? i.e. windshield wiper installation?

Thanks

There is definitely a disadvantage to not having a heater. I live in northern Florida, and you might be surprised at how often it gets used. I also have heated seats, which is nice, but not a replacement for keeping your feet warm.

Firewall forward doesn't interfere with the standard wipers.

I moved my firewall forward to hide my heater behind it from engine bay view. I used my heater just this morning. I'm glad i installed it, and the reason is primarily for my wife and daughter to feel warmth. No top on the car, but it certainly warms their legs and hands. Firewall forward didn't interfere with my wiper install either. It also gave me more room for organizing my wiring and to install a cruise module. It might give you some extra room for a glove box too if you wish.

Happy trails!
