LED brake/turn signal

I installed the LED brake/turn signal as per book

I do not understand wiring the brake and turn signal together although this did work (brake and turn to the red on light). Problem is when brakes applied dash turn signal indicators light up along with marker light in head lights. I assume when brakes applied power is back-feeding the turn signal wire and lighting up the front indicator light and dash indicators

Anyone know what I have wrong or what I can check.

In the manual section on the steering column wiring there are some wires to cut, did you do that?

Yes this was the problem, just got it done before super bowl.
