Hey all, I am confused about the seat mounting steps. Does anyone have pictures of the Gen 2 FFR supplied seat installation? The metal bars on the bottom of the seat do not line up with the bars on the frame. Does the rear or front seat mount just go through the aluminum floor? Thanks Ray

I don't know if this would apply to the Gen II set up, but I used a 11ga plate to mount to the chassis cross tubes. This gave me a little more freedom in how and where I could mount. I then took the same size tubing that was used on the seat frame and welded pieces I had drilled hole in, to the plate. Those tube allow for the actual seat frame to slide back and forth. I welded a second set of identically drilled tubes to the seat frame. These tubes slide back and forth and allow for forward and aft adjustments in 1" increments.

I mounted mine to a pair of JAZ seat mounting brackets. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/jzp-450-010-09 with sliders from 4WD.com https://www.4wd.com/p/mastercraft-safety-seat-bracket-620030/_/R-GNNN-620030. This combination gave me a wide choice adjustment not only in elevation and width but also in reclining angle. I can't believe I don't have any pictures but since I have the seats out right now I will try to take some pictures tonight.

I mounted universal sliders from speedway motors. That is then mounted to 1" square tube bolted to the frame.
I really believe just bolting the seats to the thin aluminum is a safety issue. If you get in a wreck, no way does that seat hold.

Yup - same approach. Grade 8 bolts through the tube and chassis. Might end up with 2x2 tube to get a little more height.

Interesting everyone is raising their seats. I’m getting rid of the bench to lower it. I want to sit on the floor.

I think that is interesting too. I am 5'11", my seats are only about an inch and a half off the floor and I was contemplating having to install a light finder because it is so difficult to see traffic lights if you are not the first car in line. Of course I have my seat as far back as it can go too which makes that visual angle a little more challenging. However my point is, by increasing the height of the seat changes your viewing angle out the front windshield - not a problem without the top though.

My car is manual and roadster. I want the windshield to shield wind.
