Hello, I'm still in the planning stages for my Roadster build. I know some of the requirements for the State of Michigan Registration (Working differential, Lights (head, tail, turn signals), safety glass windshield, tires with a minimum tread, and seat belts).
What I am not sure about is things like:
1) Bumpers: Do I need the complete bumper, over-riders, or get by with the lift brackets?
2) Wipers: Do I need them ?
3) Window washers: Do I need them?
I know there are quite a few Michigan Roadsters out there that can help answer.
Thanks

I've done the process three times and about to do it again with my Coupe. Everything you need to know is on the Michigan SOS website: https://www.michigan.gov/documents/BFS-72__09-03__83315_7.pdf. The referenced TR-54 inspection form gives the specific equipment requirements: https://www.michigan.gov/documents/TR-54_38480_7.pdf. Either quickjacks or overriders have qualified as bumpers in my experience. Wipers are obvious and you should plan on installing them. I've been able to talk my way out of washers on the builds I've done. But that entire step is dependent on the LEO doing the inspection. Some are sticklers. Others, like the last one I had, looked over his shoulder, said looked good, and checked all the boxes. Mainly they just want to see the paperwork to confirm ownership and numbers match up. Once you get to the steps at the SOS office where the title is applied for, then later registration and plates, nothing about the car or equipment will even be discussed as long as you have the proper paperwork.
