Talk about real-world technology transfer!

Simon Hauger and the team from West Philly High School are showcased by Newsweek with their TDI-powered GTM that earned 1st place at the Green Grand Prix and was a finalist in the X-Prize competition. The story is titled "It's Down to Us America!" saying that innovation and technology have to come from the populace.

The fact that the technology is the FFR-Sponsored West Philly Car will be used in a real product (the new 818) is a direct testament to that statement! Congrats Guys!

Is the technology you refer to in the research and development of the GTM that is applicable to the 818? I am not up to speed on this project so I was left wanting to know more about the above GTM build (West Philly HS) and the relationship with the "new FFR project". I got the point about grass root action and corporate support of the main article but then got distracted by the political posturing. Thanks, WEK.

I hope this story (W Philly HS wins Green Grand Prix) gets made into a movie. I think it qualifies.
