View Full Version : Simpson Seat Belt
Hello everyone. I was out in the car with my wife yesterday. It was COLD but we had a good time. There seems to be a problem with the Simpson seat belt. Its too loose. I have it adjusted as tight as it will go but there is too much room. She can easily lean forward. They are the MkII belts which come together behind the neck into one piece before disappearing into the trunk. Do I have to get them re stitched? I don't know that I trust anyone to do that!
Thanks for the help.

shorten them at he mount, theres a adjustment on the other end too.
It can't be shortened there any more. It won't fit through the hole.

Somewhere i'm missing something, essentually you should be able to make them with zero gap.
There is no more adjustment from inside the trunk. The webbing gets too wide at this point to fit through the hole.

The shoulder harness is tightened fully as well.

Not sure what else I can do.
Thanks.

That's the main reason he Y belts are no longer used. The only way to shorten the belts is to replace them with the individual belt type. Or, you could consider breast augmentation. ;)
Bob........ That's the first thing I told my wife! I don't see it happening though.:( Damn! I figured thats why they went away from the "Y" shaped belts. I REALLY don't want to have to move the seat forward. I thought about the adjustable seat track from FFR but it only works on the drivers side.
Thanks for the suggestion. I'll show it to her.

why does the seat track only work on the drivers side?
Don't know. Thats what it said on the FFR site.

I'm wondering what happens when your wife sits in the drivers seat? Does that harness fit her? Are both the same when you look at them? I just replaced the harnesses in my car with the same Simpson harness and they both work/fit fine. I wondering if you have a defective harness? If the driver's side fits her correctly then I'd guess you have a bad one on the passenger side.
