I recall at one time Factory Five made a badge that went over the side vent. I just checked their site and only found the round medallion. Does anyone know where to get these?

Thanks,
Mick

If you are talking about the rectangular ones, you can have mine. I will not be using them.

If Mick doesn't want them, and they are the "FFR" or "Powered by Ford" emblems, I'd be interested in them. I'm taking my "427 Cobra" ones off.

Ray, it's been quite few days and Mick has not responded. Send me your address on PM and I'll get them out to you.

Hi Terry,

Understand completely, thanks for the offer. I was under the weather but, feeling better now. I will give Factory Five a call.

Much appreciated!

Mick

My post disappeared. If this is a duplicate sorry...

What is the exact positioning of the fender badge?
What's the best, highest quality badge out there, as I see varying prices? I'm looking for a POWERED BY FORD badge.
Finally, what adhesive works best?

TIA,

TIA,

The badge should be centered above the side vent. As far as exact height above, I don't know of one. I was going to install the badge where it just looked right.

The "Powered by Ford" badge are available at a lot of different vendors. There is the old school style for the 289 FIA and two modern versions that I've seen. "Powered by Ford" and "Powered by Ford Performance".

Some come with positioning pins on the back that must be snipped off. The 3M automotive trim tape is probably the best. It is gray with a red plastic backing that gets pealed off and available anywhere.

I decided to steal EdwardB's "Dart" design by Billet Specialties.

For positioning, I ran a piece of masking tape across the top of the vent to show a margin. Then put the badge on where I liked it. Then did the same on the other side. Took me longer to dig out the tape than to get them on. BTW. I bust off the tabs on the back and use clear RTV to secure them.

Someone posted this years ago. The diagram shows the pins and holes. I believe most cut off the pins and just use 3M tape https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B002JOVUO0/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1, or emblem glue https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002MID28/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 .

I'm bringing this to the top again to see if anyone has a set they don't want. I called FFR and they are out and mentioned they didn't know when they would have more. Apparently their vendor is unreliable. So, if anyone has a set, happy to purchase them.

Thanks,
Mick

There are several different versions of the POWERED BY FORD badge available. Was there a correct version, or are they like the original cars and each one is different?

I got these from Finish Line, which some may note, sometimes takes a little patience with regard to ordering. I used the diagram posted above, ground the pins and used 3M tape (stuff is very, very strong). Happy with the result.

Which font and colors are correct? Or is it just personal preference? (I'm looking for the non-427 badge.)

Did exactly the same thing except for using 3M tape. Thing to remember, like ours the originals were hand built & is likely any number of slight differences car to car.

These are what I chose. They look nice, are OEM quality, and have 3M adhesive already on them.

Interesting, you went with the modern verbiage. I was thinking about those since it will be in the stable next to a `18 GT350, which truly is powered by FordPerformance (Voodoo engine, and all). But in the end, I'm leaning towards this one:

Hi Adam,

I would have preferred the Factory Five badging but, it wasn't an option at this time. Again, if anyone wants to sell me theirs more than happy to pay for it.

All the best-
Mick

Those that have used the tape. Have you ever taken them off? If yes, was there any paint damage or residue.

TMartinLVNV

I've done it. Warming it up with a hair dryer (not a heat gun!) makes it easier. Paint was fine.

Another option is to use some fishing line and work it back and forth behind them emblem. Then use fingernails and Goo Gone to take off the residue.

Thanks. I thought about getting them but was concerned I would not like them after I stuck them on.
