I have noticed quite a few individuals doing extensive modifications to the builds, particularly with the body. Much more than when I built the cobra. Being someone who is not skilled in favbrication nor engine modifications, all these modifications are a bit overwhelming. Are the mods done for taste or necessity. I'm sure I'll get a few comments that if I can't modify things I have no business building one. I hope this is not the case.
So, my question is, can I build the 35 truck with minimal modifications, as purchased from FFR, other than paint, and still have fun building an awesome truck?

Absolutely!
No reason you can't have a awesome truck.

Yeah most of us doing the major mods are doing them because we can't help ourselves. If we weren't modifying factory fives, we would be cutting up something else. The truck is pretty awesome as it arrives.

I've done the Cobra and now thinking/budgeting for the 35 truck with fenders, etc. I seem to notice that the mods for the truck are bit more involved. Thanks for the feedback. Sitting in one this weekend that a friend of mine recently finished to get a feel for it.
BTW, how did you take delivery of yours, as Anchorage is quite a hike. I bet that was interesting.

Look up my buddy Wes Tonkins there in Anchorage, and his '33 hot rod under construction. He came by Denver to pick me up and we drove all the way to pick up up his kit at FFR. He drove the Alcan both ways, and holds the record of 10,500 miles to pick up his kit. I suspect his sanity.

I bought the kit to build and not have to fabricate - I did make some risers to get the seat positioned to where it felt more comfortable
used aluminum 2 x 4 box to elevate and tilt. Everything else seems fine without mods
