Hello all,

I waited nearly two decades before I had space and time to build, so I started on the garage first.
So many years went by that I had all the ideas in my head for what the space would be like when I finally had a car to build.
More on the space later.

Finally, with the space completed, I picked up the kit with a small Penske truck and drove it back from Boston to Chicago.
Stopped at Carb Day in Indy on the way home.
After all of that, at least one kid likes it!

Some days we're the girl, some days we're the boy. The build is a process with ups and downs. Have fun!

I love the picture! Welcome to the adventure. My oldest son and I made the trip in a Penske truck just a handfull of months ago.

Where in Chicago are you? I live near Grand Rapids MI but get to Chicago a few times each month. Always looking to meet other builders and owners.

So, welcome to the family! Where are you in the area? I’m northwest of Chicago, just south of the “cheddar curtain”!

Welcome to the FFR Family, Graham! I love the pic and keep thinking... If they were on the driver side and the steering wheel was installed, then it would all make sense as they are arguing over who is going to drive? However, since it's the passenger side, I guess it's who's riding shotgun and who's in the trunk :P hehehe. Have a blast with your build and I'll be following along...

Welcome and congratulations! Like Steno I’m just south of the land of cheese curds. I’m almost ready to send in registration paperwork and used the Coyote. Let me know if you want to stop by.

Welcome to the forum.
This forum will be your best friend throughout your build.
The Coyote is a beast in these cars. You will be happy, happy, happy with that drivetrain.
Have fun!

Welcome to the community of builders, who are always a little envious of someone who's at the very beginning of this big adventure. I should have waited for another decade and done the garage before ordering the kit instead of after, but I'm still the happy kid almost all the time.

Share details of what's ahead of you when you get the chance!

I'll jump in and say congrats. Have fun with it!
I'm also in the area. Straight west of downtown about 13 miles. In La Grange Park.
You should join us on our trip to London Ohio this summer. Several of us from the area are going down together.

So I just got home from the build school yesterday. I like you have watched Factory Five for many years. "Since the beginning" All of life has gotten in the way or said better have been enjoyed. I am finally taking a little time for me. Wife two kids', collage, several moves, etc. Time to start my build.
I am looking to build a Daytona with a Coyote. Unfortunately there is no build school for the Daytona and trying to think of all the questions at once is more than overwhelming.

When I go to the FF website it seems pretty straight forward on how to order a Daytona to put a Coyote engine in it. Then when I did deeper I start to get terribly confused.
And yes I do not infinitely deep pockets so trying to go the route of acquiring my components (Engine, Trans and rear end from a later model is in mind.

How should I or who should I talk with to get all clear? Help, advice, welcome.

Welcome to the forum. Glad you enjoyed the build school. During our first big storm of the year. (I'm in SE Michigan not too far from there.) Your post is pretty off topic from the thread, so I'd suggest starting a new one with your specific questions. The Coupe build has a lot of similarities to the Roadster build. But some big differences too of course. Coyote engine itself is pretty straightforward. Has been done a lot of and is proven. A donor Mustang transmission is another story and you won't find that directly supported by Factory Five. I'd suggest looking at Coupe build threads. There are a number of them, including mine. Link in my sig line below. Also for $10 you can order and download a Coupe build manual.

Yes...late to the party.
Looking to build a Daytona in Valparaiso, IN maybe in 2021 after the world has settled down a bit. Got the Coyote sitting in the garage.
Just finished a 32 Ford with an LS, 6 speed and IRS. Can't wait to get the next project started. Great pictures and great to see the joy in getting started.
Let me know if I can help you in anyway....seems to be the common theme with the FFR crowd.

Take care.
