On stuff that faces the road I use truck bed-liner. Items facing heat areas I use lizard skin sound deadener then ceramic heat coating.

As long as you are thinking about firewalls, think about a rear-rear firewall. That's the rear of the rear firewall - the engine side.

+1 for bedliner on the bottom. Among the first things I did on the car was roughen the hell out of the bottom panels, flip the chassis and mount them, clean and roll/"brush" on bedliner.

Not so happy with the powder-coat I had done on the front bulkhead panels. It's not as tough as POR15 paint.

I'm using bedliner (Herculiner) for everything facing the road. I used a black hammer finish powder coat on the firewalls. I used Dynamat on all of the interior sides of the aluminum.

Plus 1 on the lizardskin products. Also, I added a second skin on the exterior of the cockpit to attenuate noise & help with heat migration.

This picture is when my 818 was about 2 years old and I had to do an engine swap. On the firewall between the engine compartment and the cockpit, I use a Dynamat product (experimental, not for sale). It was about 3/8" thick with 3 layers. 1: thick embossed aluminum foil. 2: Fiberglass insulation. 3: an adhesive layer. I used 3m aluminum tape to seal the seams. It has done a good job keeping heat out of the cockpit.
