What rear brake setup are the standard supplied FFR brakes? What rotors and pads do they use? Year make and model would be appreciated. I thought they were supposedly 11.65? Thanks Ray

Are you planning to go with the solid axle or the IRS set up?

Here is what FFR offers: http://www.factoryfiveparts.com/16285-performance-11-65-rear-brake-set/

I believe they are PBR calipers.

I have the solid axle supplied by FFR. Just cannot seem to find the right pads for the calipers. Thank you for your help! Ray

When I checked with FFR about 18 months ago when I was in need of replacement caliper piston dust boots, they indicated the calipers in their 11.65" rear disk brake kit were from 87-88 Thunderbird. Don't know who makes the rotor or pads.

Okay -- I didn't read your question correctly. So, FFR also sells the pads for their rear brake system they use: http://www.factoryfiveparts.com/16276-rear-brake-pads/

Sorry I can't be of more help than that. Maybe give FFR a call and ask them what pads they use (sell) and then see if you can find them locally.

OK, here is what I came up with and I could be wrong. The standard brake rotors are 11.65" or 296 mm off of a 2004ish Mustang SVT Cobra while the pads are 87-88 Ford Thunderbird, (I could not find any 11.65 rotors for a 87-88 Thunderbird). I will check Monday as I have a local supplier who picks up and delivers. I am sure there is a reason for the madness that I don't get. (why not use the pieces off of one type of vehicle year)? Thanks Ray

Could the 11.65 rotors be from the 2000 Mustang shown below:

Also, you may just want to call Factory Five or the folks at Moser since they produced the rear.

Note:.. I purchased my axle assembly from Moser back in 2016 (Dana 44 Type) but I am running Ford Explorer Rear Brakes because I liked the old top hat shoe style parking brake.

One more piece of information I found on FFR's website regarding the 11.65" rear brakes:

These instructions apply to any 1986-2004 Ford Mustang 8.8 rear axle with Traction-Lok differential (FFR#s 14319,14970) using 1994-2004 OEM Mustang style disc brakes (FFR#s 14834, and 14903).

A Google search for 1994-2004 Mustang 11.65" rear brake rotors and pads:

I think Steve nailed it and you just need to buy the Cobra parts for a 1994-2004.

I appreciate your help you are correct! I bought the right stuff but I had problems with the pads however after looking at the caliper closely I noticed that the caliper just had casting flaws and after I cleaned them up they fit perfectly. Thank you Ray

The brake caliper and brake bracket are off of an 87 to 88 Ford Thunderbird the caliper bracket has a special grind on it to open it up to fit the 11.65 in rotor the rotor is off of a Saturn Vue I cannot remember the year exactly but the holes are opened up to 14 mm

I found Cobra caliper brackets for 8.8 rear ends online google search a 3 letter Acronym Co. Ford no longer makes them. PS Cobra calipers, rotors and pads can be found where they have every part your car will ever need.
